Lord of the Rings the Musical
Yes it’s true. In Spring 2005 Lord of the Rings The Musical will hit the West End in London with an enormous budget behind it. “This will be like nothing the West End has ever seen before,” said producer Kevin Wallace. Read the story on BBC Online. Could you be the Frodo they’re looking for?

Wow. A Lord of the Rings muscial…
I doubt I’d make a good Frodo, but I wonder how their Eowyn casting is going… 😉
I’ve just found the official website in case anyone is interested. It’s http://www.thelordoftheringsmusical.com. I’m just trying to get my head round this. 1000 pages – 3 movies, about 11 hours, 1 musical, 2 and a half hours. What is going on with the world!
wow. i’ve seen the hobbit on stage before which was quite good, but LOTR the musical? i’ll have to see it.
hmmmm….i wonder if they got the idea from reading the VSD’s? lol
I think I might travel all the way to England just so I can see it. 🙂
……..Musical?!?! Okay, NOW I’m scared…..
I wonder what age that actors need to be???? HMMMMMM!! Does anyone know? I have been Bilbo, that was fun, but a big huge world wide play, wow!!! My dream!!!
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOTR as a musical?! No way! It just doesn’t seem right!
Oh help. I agree with Cate. This is bound to be ridiculous.
awww why so negative everyone? i highly doubt it will be worse than bakshi… i for one am interested to see how its represented in song- since tolkiens world had a strong emphesis on music then im suprised the books havent been set to song before.
Ha! Robyn and I came up with this first. I’ve already done half of it and it’s going to be on our Mordor Page.
How do you go about claiming copyright?
LOL
Ours is a total mickey take of course, how could they do that seriously!!!
a musical?– I liked the movie alot but you just never know
A musical….. interesting….. Although, then we’d (maybe) get to hear Aragorn & Legolas sing “Boromir’s Lay”?????
If only it was Viggio & Orli!! 🙂
Didn’t he try to do something like this before? 🙂
i don’t like the idea of a musical, but i’d love to hear tolkien’s songs from the book with music. aah, i’d like to fly to london on 2005 to watch the play.
A musical?? I know that there are a lot of songs in the book and I love to sing (as any elf does) but a LORT musical? That is just strange.
Somehow, I knew it would come to this…..
wonderful *sarcasically* it will be my music and lotr-obsessed little sister’s favourite thing.
ooook then lotr musical now I am scared. I would like to hear someof the songs in the book but a full scale musical. ummmm how bout no. it wouldn’t work at all. But I will probably see it anyway
I watched the trailer on the offical website and it looks like Riverdance.
Kirsten
Hmmm… “Les Miserables” made a good musical, but LOTR?? The books are way too long- they’d have to leave out a lot!
It’s bad enough that The Hobbit was turned into a play!
I have news for people, much to my disgust and dissapointment I have fond an article stating that noone of Tolkien’s songs will be used !!!!!
omg! awesome! great! i’m watching it and flying all the way to england! i don’t care! lol!
