Tolkien letter for auction

A letter written by JRR Tolkien to a fan is up for auction in Australia on 10th February 2005. In the letter he tells of the difficulties facing him in getting the third and final book of the trilogy published. There are further details, including pictures of the letter at leski.com.

The return of the costumes

13th Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design Exhibition opens tomorrow, 31st January, in Los Angeles at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising galleries. The exhibition will feature costumes from Return of the King. There are further details at downtownnews.com and fashionmuseum.org.

The exhibition closes on 23rd April 2005.

Return of the Convention – update on guest news

Return of the Convention (25th-28th March 2005 in Bristol, UK) will be attended by actor and stuntman Jed Brophy. Jed will be available for autographs, will be giving a presentation and attending the Reading Day gala dinner. He will also be running a stunt workshop for a limited number of people.

All profits from this event will go to The Red Cross who are deeply involved in current relief efforts after the Asian Tsunami.
