Lord of the Lawsuits
CNN reports that Peter Jackson is suing New Line Cinema, alleging that the studio committed fraud in the way it dealt with some of the revenues made by The Fellowship of the Ring movie. His lawyers believe that as a result PJ may have lost £100 million. New Line Cinema is contesting the case.

Wow. pj suing Newline? That’s kinda sad. Hope Mark Ordesky doesn’t have anything to do with it.

Even if PJ did somehow lose £100 million it does seem kind of, well, as newsgirl put it-sad. When you consider the amazing success that he’s had.
Why oh why did Lord of the Rings have to sink into the stinking pit of suing? They just had to do it. You can’t have a contract without suing someone. I just lost a lot of respect for PJ and New Line.
i heard about this a while back. it’s a shame but i’m not suprised. when you have so much money going around, someone has to play games (usually the studio) and try to screw others out of money promised. pj took a paycut in return of revenues that were limited by new line, so i can see where he’s coming from. his hard work made bags of money for them and this is how they pay (or not) him back.

Oh, I know, I really ‘looked up’ to PJ and New Line. I really, really thought that they were better than that and that their relationship would be better than that, after everything that’s happened. And it may well create even more complications to the production or The Hobbit, if that does now ever get on the way. I don’t enjoy it when people sue other people ridiculous amounts of money, and now PJ’s doing it! That’s sad, as said before. I’m sure he had his reasons, but still, Why’d ya do it, PJ?
