LotR musical for London in 2007

Kevin Wallace, one of the producers of the LotR musical currently playing in Toronto, confirmed that the stage show will open in London in 2007. More information can be found in this article at Backstage, in which Wallace also talks about critical reaction to the production.

LOTR stageplay starts with mixed reviews

Critics are split about the opening performance of the theatrical extravaganza of ‘The Lord of the Rings’. It opened last night in Toronto, Canada. While one reviewer was “bored” with the apparent lack of spectacular theatre effects, and another decried the loss of character development to other aspects of the play, J.R.R.Tolkien’s granddaughter Rachel Tolkien, however, said, “Everything that, to me, is the most important and most moving in the books is on the stage.”
