Classic FM listeners have voted the Lord of the Rings as their top soundtrack. This is the fifth year that Howard Shore’s music has topped the poll. You can read more about the poll here.

A revolver carried by Tolkien in the First World War is on display at the Imperial War Museum in London as part of an exhibition on the Battle of the Somme. The revolver will not only be shown in the museum, but will also be an online exhibit, which should open on June 1, 2006.
