In honor of Valentine’s day, Entertainment Weekly has compiled a list of Pop Culture’s Best Couples: 26 True (Fictional) Lovers. Among those listed were our very own Aragorn and Arwen, number twelve on the list (which is reported to be in no special order).

LotR-Online: Shadows of Angmar

An article on the Wall Street Journal’s website speculates if New Line is really “hung out to dry”, and looks at its previous success with movies such as the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Tolkien Estate Sues New Line Cinema

The Tolkien Estate has sued New Line Cinema for its share of the profits from the nearly $6 billion that the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy has grossed worldwide. You can read the full article here .

1968 Interview with Tolkien

Remnants of the past seemed to have been dug up. On Tolkien Library.com, you can now view Youtube videos of Professor Tolkien being interviewed about his books and the different races in them. The website offers it as a text article or as video with various clips from the movies.

Howard Shore on the Hobbit

In an interview with IF Magazine.com, Howard Shore was asked if he was interested in doing more music specifically for the upcoming Hobbit movies. He says, “Yes, of course. The book is wonderful and I’ve dreamed of writing music for it.”

Tolkien inspired art exhibition

J.R.R. Tolkien and Fantasy Inspired Art Exhibition named “Castles in the Mist” will be held in Moreton-In-Marsh, England from the 5th of April until the 7th of April. The exhibition will feature the works of Ruth Lacon and Ted Nasmith as well as lots of other Middle-Earth goodies. More information is available here.
