It’s official: Ian McKellen will again take up the robes of Gandalf the Wizard in the cinematic adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy classic “The Hobbit,” Empire recently reported. We can all breathe a sigh of relief now!
Starting at 23:30pm on 3rd May the BFI IMAX in London, UK, is showing all three of the Lord of the Rings movies. There are further details here.

In an interview at mtv.com Guillermo Del Toro talks about his vision for The Hobbit movies including what the second movie is going to be about. He reveals that Andy Serkis, Ian McKellen, Howard Shore and John Howe will be involved and the thing he’s been most excited about are the spiders of Mirkwood
Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh along with executives from New Line Cinema and MGM have announced that Guillermo del Toro will direct The Hobbit movies. Peter and Fran said “We have long admired Guillermo’s work and cannot think of a more inspired filmmaker to take the journey back to Middle-earth. Shadowfax from the LotR movies, (known as Blanco in real life), will be appearing with his trainer Cynthia Royal from April 25th to April 27th at Merrimount Morgans Stable in Wisconsin. Friday 25th will be a family night with clinics being held on 26th and 27th. There are further details here.
