The Middle Earth Beer Festival will take place from 2nd April to 4th April in the Ribble Valley, UK. Grindleton Brewhouse will launch a special beer for the festival and head brewer Ian Lait has said; “This festival is the perfect opportunity to brew a local beer which celebrates the books and J R R Tolkien’s strong connection with the area.“

According to an article in the Coventry Telegraph, Sam Raimi, one of the possible choices on the ‘short list’ to direct the Hobbit agrees with the choice of del Toro as director.
In an interview with SciFi Wire.com, Sean Astin spoke about the upcoming ‘Hobbit’ movies and what he expects.
“I wouldn’t personally expect to be back. Peter knows that he just has to tell me when and where to show up and I’ll be there. But I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t what’s going on with that…
“I always just said, ‘You people are out of your minds. Of course it’s [the Hobbit] going to be made, and it’ll be great and Peter will do it. And there it is.’ And they’re doing it. So I’m excited. I’m excited to see them. But I personally don’t expect them to call me.”
