For fans of Tolkien, Machynlleth, Wales will host one of the biggest events ever to take place. Taking place at the historic Y Plas manor, The Festival in the Shire will include: a conference with numerous well known guest speakers, a collectors exposition including original artworks and many rare books, and the highlight; the festival itself, including re-enactments, music, and many other activities.

Born of Hope is a British made Lord of the Rings movie which is set in the time before the War of the Ring. The film tells the story of the Dúnedain, the Rangers of the North. The film will premiere on-line on 1st December. There are further details at the official website here and you can view a preview trailer here.

Festival in the Shire, a most exciting event for Tolkien enthusiasts is to be held on August 13th -15th, 2010 at Y Plas, Machynlleth, Wales, UK.
