Simon Tolkien and his grandfather’s shadow

In this article at The Huffington Post, Simon Tolkien, grandson of JRR Tolkien, describes how the LotR movies were a turning point for him.
“I knew that the time had come to decide whether I was going to look in the mirror and see a famous man’s grandson or someone who had an identity in his own right”.

Simon started writing and now that his second novel has been published he feels he is finally “stepping out from underneath my grandfather’s shadow”.
