The Hobbit pub’s licensing fee to be paid by Stephen Fry and Sir Ian McKellen
As reported in The Examiner; in a heartwarming resolution to The Hobbit pubs’s licensing legal drama, actors Stephen Fry and Sir Ian McKellen have announced that they’ll be funding the annual $100 licensing fee required for the Southampton pub to retain its name and Tolkien theme. This was announced through the pub’s Twitter feed, which also simply said:
We are a happy pub.
