It’s great to know that Tolkien books also has a place in schools and the students are taking advantage of it and bringing fresh ideas to the roles.
I thought Smaug sounded like someone was starting a tractor/truck at the end of The Hobbit AUJ. Had a very mechanical sound to it.
Lack of visibility of Smaug? Perhaps the production team are still trying to work out what colour best suits Smaug. Will he be a blue, red or green dragon?
The trouble is the “one ring” went into the fiery furnace of Mount doom. This roman ring is still around to tell its secrets. It is beautifully crafted.
I think the questions put to “Gandalf” and “Radagast” were very good and the answers the actors gave was both refreshing and thoughtful.
All the best to Orlando in his stage debut. Hope it will make a good running and not just end after two or three months.
