Starting on December 5th we will be having a marathon LOTR viewing followed by a discussion in the Movie forum. The idea is to watch all three movies, preferably the extended editions, in the course of a day. For those of weaker constitutions you can take the whole weekend or, if you prefer, one movie per weekend over three weeks. Each of the movies will be discussed separately each week to accommodate these stragglers. The discussion threads will appear on the following Monday.
Ideas for discussion topics for each movie should be PMed to findemaxam48. More details are available in the Movie forum thread titled LOTR Movie Marathon . You can ask for a reminder on this thread if you want it.
It is my sad duty to report that our own BerethEdhellen, Diane Doyle, lost her battle with cancer and was taken from our reach on Feb 11th.

Some members are reporting that they cannot log in on the Home page of CoE.
Until this problem is resolved, if you are having logging in problems, please go to the ‘Forum’ page and you should be able to log in there.
The forums are back. This is new software (very similar to what was there before). If you come across any issues, please report them in the Announcements & Feedback area.
The forums have been disabled for the next day or two, for security reasons. You will not be able to post at this time. This should be resolved by Sunday or Monday at the latest. Thank you for your patience.
UPDATE: We’ve run into some technical difficulties with upgrading the forum. This may take another day to resolve, but it should hopefully be up and running by Tuesday. Sorry for the delay!
Apologies for the downtime, folks, but we were hacked. We’ve rolled the site back to a backup from a few days ago, so if you’re wondering why any of your posts or anything are missing, that’s why.
On Sunday, March 4th , the CoE Book Club will start reading and discussing ‘The Hobbit’. We will be posting questions and quotes for discussion and looking at art related to the various chapters. For more info, and to join in, you can check out our Book Club here.
Sorry about the strangeness with the site, folks. We somehow lost several days of data, and we had to restore from backup. We may have lost any posts, PMs, etc that you have made in the last day or two, but that should be all that is missing. Sorry!
