Calimehtar was the 30th King of Gondor and the son of Narmacil II. He achieved a great victory over the Easterlings upon Dagorlad in TA 1899 with the help of the Éothéod and some Northmen who were revolting against the invaders of Rhovanion. In this battle he avenged the death of his father and averted peril for his people for a time.

In the year TA 1900, Calimehtar built the White Tower of Minas Anor. Calimehtar was succeeded by his son Ondoher.
