The Dark Throne was the throne that belonged to Morgoth Bauglir, also known as the first Dark Lord.

He stole the Silmarils, and took them to his fortress, Angband. The Dark Throne was located in the mighty fortified citadel there, and it was under that throne that Beren hid during the Quest for the Silmaril.
