A dwarf-woman of Durin’s Folk, daughter of Thrain II, and the only dwarf-woman to be named in their histories. She was b.TA 2760. The date of her death is unknown.

Dís was the sister of Thorin Oakenshield. Her husband is not named, but she was the mother of Fíli and Kíli, who were slain defending Thorin, their uncle, in the Battle of Five Armies TA 2941.
