Elanor Gamgee was born March 25, in TA 3021. She was the first daughter born to Samwise and Rosie Gamgee. She was called 'the fair' because of her golden hair, unusual in hobbits. It was Frodo's suggestion to call her Elanor, after the flower found in Lothlórien called elanor.

She lived in Bag End for many years until she married Fastred of Greenholm in the year 30 of the Fourth Age. They had one known child, named Elfstan. They and their descendants lived at Undertowers on the Tower Hills.

She was given the Red Book that Frodo and Sam had written in before Samwise left for the havens to be with the other ring-bearers. She was the last person to see Samwise before he left.
