Emerië was an area of Númenor located to the southwest of the central peak of Meneltarma. It was a region of rolling grasslands that covered the southwestern lowlands of Mittalmar right up to the border with Hyarnustar. It was populated with many small communities of shepherds, for Emerië was an ideal land for the raising of sheep. The best known of the shepherd communities were the Hyarastoni.

The Lady Erendis fell in love wth Emerië and its flocks, and when she became the betrothed of Aldarion (Later Tar-Aldarion) she was given a large tract of the grasslands. There she built the home where she resided for most of her life.
