The Fellowship of the Ring was the company of Nine Walkers who set out from Rivendell on the 25th December, TA 3018.
They included: Gandalf the Grey, one of the Istari; Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Aragorn, Boromir, Legolas, Gimli, Meriadoc Brandybuck, and Peregrin Took.
They were decided upon at the Council of Elrond, and Gandalf was their leader, and they were all to go to Mount Doom to destroy the One Ring. However, only two ended up in Mordor: Frodo and Samwise. The Fellowship was broken at Parth Galen, but the living members reunited after the War of the Ring.
