The Elvish name referring to the people of the House of Haleth, the second of the three houses of the Edain, who went to Beleriand from the Eastern lands .

There they lived for a while in the south of Thargelion and then went westward under the banner of Lady Haleth, the daughter of Haldad.

They gathered mostly, although they were a widespread woodfolk, at the Amon Obel in the Forest of Brethil.
