The High Hay, otherwise known as the Hedge was a long, tall hedge that separated Buckland from the Old Forest. It was created by the hobbits of Buckland, and it extended nearly 20 miles in a loop from the Great East Road round to the meeting of the Withywindle and the Brandywine.
