A man of the People of Haleth and kinsman of Brandir. It was said that he was preferred as chief of Brethil rather than the weak Brandir. He was the only one who dared to follow Túrin all the way in his quest to destroy Glaurung at Cabed-en-Aras.

As Túrin and Hunthor were climbing the ravine in which the river ran,a great stone was dislodged by the passage of Glaurung among them and smote Hunthor so he fell into the river and died.
