This was a momentus party in Hobbiton in the Shire year 1401 (the year 3001 of the Third Age) on the 22nd of September. It was a birthday party to celebrate the uncle and nephew who had the same birthday, Bilbo and Frodo Baggins. Bilbo turned 111 and Frodo 33, which was an important date to a Hobbit, as it was his 'coming of age'

About 144 guests attended the party. Most were Hobbits, but there were other close friends, like Gandalf the Grey. Gandalf was also there to provide some spectacular fireworks, his specialty.

It was during his speech at this party that Bilbo announced to a surprised crowd that he was going. He then disappeared into thin air, with the help of the One Ring.
