Translates to 'Silent Street' in Sindarin.

Reached by a door (Fen Hollen) in the back of the sixth circle of Minas Tirith, it was the central road for the Houses of the Dead and ran between Mount Mindolluin and Minas Tirith. Along the street were pale domes, empty halls, and statues of the great of Gondor who have passed on.

Rath Dínen was where the kings and stewards of Gondor were buried when they died. The stewards had their own building on the Silent Street, the House of Stewards.

Meriadoc Brandybuck and Peregrin Took were buried there in the Fourth Age, a great honour bestowed on them for their part in the War of the Ring.
