The Stoors are one of the breeds of hobbits.

They are more broad and heavily built than the Fallohides. They had larger hands and feet, and they preferred flat lands and riversides. They were more friendly with Men than with Dwarves or Elves.

For a long time they lived by the banks of the Anduin, but they came west after the Harfoots, and settled along the Loudwater between Tharbad and Dunland. Around the time of 1409 of the Third Age, the Stoors that dwelt in the Angle fled south and west because of the wars with Angmar. Some of these folk took up residence beside the River Gladden, and became a people of fisherfolk.

Sméagol and Déagol were both Stoors.
