Waymeet was a village in the Westfarthing on the Great East Road, fifteen miles west of Bywater. Waymeet was so called because the main road from Sarn Ford joined the Great East Road at Waymeet.

Waymeet was one of the headquarters of the Chiefs Men during the War of the Ring.

The name Waymeet is a modernised spelling of Waymoot, the spelling preferred by Tolkien in early drafts of "The Return of the King". This spelling was never corrected on the map accompanying "The Lord of the Rings".
