Haldir of Lothlorien
Onward into war he went
Glades of gold call out to him
Guardian of the Galadhrim

Haldir, proud he was to fight
Haldir, with his noble might
Onward into ailiing land
Strength in heart and bow in hand

To Helm’s Deep a host he led
In defense of hope he said
Elves and Men would stand as one
Now until all days are done

Beckoning I called his name
From his voice no answer came
Haldir! Haldir! Loud and clear
Haldir, for your life I fear!

Haldir, born of Elven kind
Have you gone before your time?
Fell winds blow through leaf and tree
Haldir, what has come of thee?

Whispers speak of storm and fears
Silverlode, she spills her tears
What came of Haldir the Fair?
For he comes not and I despair

Mournful is the tale they tell
In Rohan by the sword he fell
There he lies beneath the rain
A ray of light darkness has slain

Silence speaks where once dwelt song
Grief strikes Caras Galadhon
Days grow cold like winter’s frost
A silver star the sky has lost

Haldir, with his voice so fair
Star-lit eyes and golden hair
Like the strong mallorn he stood
Warden of the Golden Wood
