Work: Full-time student majoring in English Lit and minoring in French. I am also a part-time office worker at a small book publishing company.
Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada... but I'm going on exchange in January and I'll be in the Netherlands for the entire semester!
Hobbies: Dance, writing novels that are perpetually unfinished, reading, daydreaming, drawing, and spending much too much time on the computer. I am also a huge language nerd - apart from English I speak French and a little bit of Russian and German, and I'm looking forward to taking a course in Middle English next term and Old English next year. In case that didn't make it obvious to you, I'm a big fan of early English language and literature. Also, if any of you out there are native speakers of French or Russian, it would be awesome to practise with you!

Best LotR movie: I can't decide! All of them have some particular things that really appeal to me.
Best LotR book: See above. I'm not sure if it counts, but I actually enjoyed reading The Silmarillion more than all of the LotR books. So that would be my "best".
Best scene: In the movies, I like the scene where Gandalf and Pippin are galloping through the streets of Minas Tirith on their way to see Denethor. I also like any part with the Riders of Rohan, especially when they ride out of Edoras in RotK - These parts are awesome in part because of Howard Shore's wonderful music. I sure hope he does The Hobbit...

Favourite place: Rohan, and Fangorn Forest. Horses and trees, two awesome things! The Grey Havens were also beautiful in the movies.
Favourite character: I've always liked Eowyn. I think I identify with her more than with the other female characters in LotR. If we include the Silmarillion, I really like Haleth and Emeldir too.
Favourite race: Would probably have to be Men, but I find the Ainur to be quite interesting as well.

Anything else: I'm a pretty open person, though I like keeping politics out of discussion. I have a bit of a strange sense of humour sometimes, so it would help if you weren't a super-super-serious person. I also tend to ramble on a lot (as you can see from this post that is getting longer and longer) about some things, so don't be scared of telling me to shut up. Other than that, I can't think of anything that needs to be said about me, feel free to PM me if you think you can put up with me as a pen pal!

Best lotr movie: I love all three of PJ's films, especially Fellowship. I will confess to almost liking the Bakshi LotR and animated Hobbit.

Best scene: Anything without mushy Arwen/Aragorn stuff. I love the whole thing! Hobbits and Rohirrim are always good.
