Post Elves really DO have pointed ears

Being a linguist, I discovered that although Tolkien doesn't explicityly say that Elves have pointed ears in his books, he does mention it the Etymologies!

The Lost Road, the Etymologies

LAS- (1) lassë leaf: Q lasse, N lhass; Qlasselanta 'leaf fall', autumn.

..........etc........Lhasgalen Greenleaf, Gnome name in Laurelin. (Some think this is related to the next and lassë 'ear'. The Quendian ears were more pointed and leaf-shaped then human.

LAS- (2) listen. N lhaw ears (of one person)
