Computer graphics - show & feedback

I've been making blends for some time now, but there's always room for improvement

So please let me now what you think, tips are very welcome

This is a colorization I made of Arwen

More to come! (I guess..)

Admin edit: this is now the place for posting all computer graphics except for avatars and banners (these have a thread of their own). Feel free to post here miniature versions or links to your wallpapers, photomanipulations, etc.
Questions and problems with graphics problems should be taken to the thread established for these.

Well, you can't really call it a blend unless you take at least two pictures and blend them together into one.

(Like this is an example of one I made, here. I made it awhile ago, but I see some things that I could fix or edit.) What program did you use, though?

Here's what I have to say though:
-I think you could do without the text in the left hand corner, because I find the image crowded as it is.
-You did a good job on the colourization on the eyes, lips and background (it's shiny and pretty), but the contrast between the green and the deep blue doesn't produce a good result (at least on my computer screen). I think you should've colourized the dress as well.

Overall, I do like it! It's very ethereal looking, and it's pretty. Keep up the good work. I'd like to see more. =)

I know it isn't actually a blend, but it is sort of a design, right?

And it's done with the same program I use for the real blends: Paint Shop Pro.
Thanks for your tips though. It proves I've still got a lot to learn

You're right about the dress. Maybe I could do another version, with a different color.. I'll think that one over

I really like the last one, so no critique for that one.

The first one, it's a good blend, but I bet it could look great with some extra effects.
-There should be more colour unity (am I making sense?). I'm not sure how to achieve this in PSP, since I use Photoshop (with PS, you would maybe use a texture or a gradient and change the blending mode)
-The background is kind of plain, granted it's a small image. So that's not something I would worry about.
-Black is a colour that should be avoided in graphic design. It gives off a sort of hollow, void feeling.

However, if you extracted that image (first blend), it's a really good job. Extractions are my weakness... and I do like the slightly faded effect in the back.

Extractions are basically when you remove the background from the desired image, leaving only the image itself. =)

Nice work!

I did make links to your images, so as to keep the thread easy to load for those with slower internet connections.

I know I've let some go as they are, such as smaller images, but I need to start being a bit more assertive in keeping the forum more efficient.

Thank you! =) The image is supposed to be bigger though..

I never actually thought of the effects all those images have on the loading of the page, thanks for pointing that out
