anyone here from Western NY? fingerlakes reigon, about 2 hours from nowhere? that's where I live and good luck finding it withought looking at the seenery, the hills are georgeous! 'specialy in the fall. if you're ever in the area, take some time to look up Stony Brook and Letchworth State/National Parks. great hiking and pikniking. just bring bug spray, gnats and mosquitos are the only bugs that dare live in NY.

How does Mt. Morris, Geneseo, Livonia and Dansville grab you? I used to live there and my daughter went to Geneseo Elementary. I know the area well, and you're right.....it's the back of beyond but not so far from Rochester and Buffalo, fairly good size cities.

Does the local news still spend the first 10 minutes on what the Buffalo Bills were doing that day, then a few minutes of news, then 10 minutes of how the weather affected the Bills, then the sports news about (guess what?) the Buffalo Bills? *howling with laughter*

Good to hear from someone in that part of the world. It's almost time for your 4 days of summer when July gets here, then sadly it's back to winter again.

Never know who one is likely to run into on CoE, eh? Welcome!

actualy, you're pretty accurate, 'cept that the stations I listen to start it off with the Sabers.lol! we'll get more than four days, we had a month of spring last january, but a coupple of NY Lake effect blizzards. I live :30 minutes south, and 10 minutes northwest of Genneseo/Dansvill respectively. it's a great area!

the only town I recall (it has been over 20 years since I lived there) is Perry and another town that starts with N..... but darn if I can remember what it is. We actually lived in Groveland. Does Perry still have the outdoor drive-in theater?

This IS Saber season but just wait until August. From then until the playoffs in Dec./Jan. it will be all Bills. *smiles* And it must have been an odd winter...all I remember from that period of my life is snow...flurries if nothing else from Oct. to May. And oh, those lake effect storms....I don't even want to think of them ever again, which is why I now live down here in the south.

Staten Island, NY here. Lots of nice wooded areas to enjoy. Too bad Saruman has taken over causing many places to become overdeveloped.
