Post Moving avatars?
on: October 17, 2009 09:57
Can anyone tell me if I could make a moving avatar smaller and still have it move? (does that make sense?)
I found a moving avatar I really like but it's too big for this site.
Is there any way to modify it?
And how do you make a moving avatar in the first place?

Yes you can make moving avatars smaller, their quality may not be as good though. Just simply resize them.

There are several ways to make moving avatars, and all of them involve patience and time.

Here's some tutorials.

Tut #1

Tut #2

Hope this helps.

I did try to resize the one I have but when I try saving it, it says the animation will be lost.

ok, I was able to do it. I don't know what program you are using.

I did it in GIMP. You can also do this in Photoshop. Make sure you are saving it as a .gif file or it will not work.

Okay, I got it resized (using photoshop) and mangaed to save it as .gif to desktop.
But now the framerate is slowed down by half. So how do I adjust that? (and why has the animation slowed anyway?)

hmm... I don't know why, it didn't do that to me in GIMP.

Ok, take the original, resize it, and click "Save As" , save as Animation, make sure the delay between frames is 100 ms.

That's the only way I know how to slow/speed an animation up. Find the delay and set it higher or lower. or by deleting/adding frames.

I did it! *points to avie* I adjusted the time delay to 0 instead of 2. Not sure how it got to 2?
The quality is a little scuffed, but beggars can't be choosers.

It's a snippet of the famous 'Deep Dive' scence from Kingdom Hearts 2. I might try to find a longer version of it somewhere now that I know how to edit it.

I can't help but look at the text going off of your avatar and think 'What about a catapult?' Am I right? Please?

If anyone had happened to look out of a window on the east side of the palace, they might have noticed two figures in the darkness, dancing in a square bordered by living plants, out of time with the dancers inside but perfectly in time with each other.
