Hi,

I was trying to translate "nor wholly changed" into Quenya. I think I have, but I am no linguist, and, sadly, am called away from my Quenya learning by such things as my day job...

Anyways, I translated it as:

Unv aqua ahyanë

Is this right?

I suppose you mean "changed" as in "the changed man": then it should be a passive participle and its negation is expressed by lá.
(And I suppose you meant "not" and not "nor".

Lá aqua ahyaina (or ahyainë in the plural).
Yassë engë lómë, anarties calali.

It sounds like a quote from Tolkien's poem Mythopoeia where "nor" would be correct.

In Quenya "nor" might be rendered intelligibly as *yé lā̆, or perhaps even *láyë (mimicking Finnish ei-kä, Latin neque).

Thanks for your speedy replies!

It is indeed a line (or, half a line) from Mythopoeia, and I did mean "nor". It seems simply the fault of my ignorance that rendered it "not".

I appreciate your help.
