So you are not Eärnur, who lived before the fall of Minas Ithil, last King before Aragorn II Estel (only Stewards between them), but you are also not in the LoTR story.

So you must be Aragorn and Arwen's son Eldarion (Appendix A "The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen".

That you are not Eärnur was not a guess but a statement of fact (unless the appendices in my 2002 copy of LoTR are faulty).

Yes, my question:

OK.
Eldarion is a descendant of Aragorn and Arwen - the problem being regarding question 11?

Let me clarify #11 .... The way you've phrased the question is very difficult to answer, Gando. The character is indirectly an ancestor of Aragorn is one way of putting it.

Not an ancestor then. Ancestors have to be direct line, not great-uncles.

Fall of Minas Ithil 2002 Third Age.

1975 Third Age: (Crown Prince of Gondor) Eärnur brings a fleet to Lindon. The Witch-king defeated ...

ergo: Eärnur lived before the fall of Minas Ithil and thus can not be meant.

2043 Eärnur becomes King of Gondor. He is challenged by the Witch-king.

2050 The challenge is renewed. Eärnur rides to Minas Morgul and is lost. Mardil becomes the first Ruling Steward.

The next King of Gondor (and also Arnor) is Aragorn II, only Ruling Stewards in between.

ergo: Aragorn is one of the main characters of LoTR, so he also can not be meant!

A) Did NOT live before the fall of Minas Ithil in 2002 Third Age.

Though, just as an aside, I have heard etc. the word "respect" misused by so many people as a demand for it, where upon hearing etc. the demand for it I respond with the social graces of a mixture of a Tasmanian devil, a wolverine and a werewolf: "nobody is hindering you at earning my respect; respect can only be earned. If you are mentioned, you are in, and thus a part of, the story being told. I would agree with the formulation "A name can be mentioned yet that person not be a participant of the story.

And then, I did not write the E~S is the only person on CoE that I would not want to be disrespectful of. Meaning that I am disrespectful of all others, as a "logical" deduction might be formulated. Anything but that. I am also very much opposed to pseudoaccurate "rankings" that some media are so fond of. Very many of the assumptions underlying the details of their "rankings" are seriously open to at times harsh challenge. So consider my statement "pretty much the last person on CoE" as being a large basket with lots of room for others, including yourself, no question.
I'm on the other end of the analogous thread in my Realm, so I'm going to concentrate on that until I can hand the baton over to the next solver.

tarc is correct: the character is mentioned only in the RoTK. He does not play an active part in the War of the Ring as he lived many years before the events took place.

1. I had no children so I was succeed by my nephew who became the second of four specially designated Kings of Gondor.
