Symphony Silicon Valley to Present Premiere of Complete
Lord of the Rings Trilogy with Live Orchestra

San Jose, CA – November 12, 2014 –
Symphony Silicon Valley and Chorale and Howard Shore, composer of the Oscar-winning Lord of the Rings (LOTR) soundtrack, present the first American screening of the complete LOTR trilogy with a live American orchestra. Along with soloists to be named later, the Academy Award-winning films will be shown in High Definition on a giant 48’ by 20’ screen with 250 musicians on stage.

The Lord of the Rings films, directed by Peter Jackson and based on the J.R.R. Tolkien novel, have won 17 Academy Awards. The Symphony Silicon Valley, choruses and soloists will be on stage beneath and in front of the screen for these historic performances. Howard Shore’s award-winning score is 1200 pages in length.

The San Jose Center for the Performing Arts is located at 255 S. Almaden Blvd, San Jose, CA 95113.

These special performances are coming directly from Lincoln Center in New York, where they will be presented by a Swiss orchestra, with European musicians, the week before San Jose’s performances. Tickets for all three films are sold in a package at $330, $240 and $150. Single tickets may be available for any remaining seats at a future date: $120, $90 and $60.

This sounds absolutely fantastic! I wish I could go, but it's much too expensive - to fly from the UK.

No viewing for me, either. 3000 miles too far away. I will just settle for the CoE's viewing.
We were one in the same, running like moths to the flame. You'd hang on every word I'd say, but now they only ricochet.
