"But Fingon climbed to the foot of the precipice where his kinsman hung, and then could go no further; and he wept when he saw the cruel device of Morgoth."
I've seen the word huch used a few times in fanfiction to refer to a woman's womb (sadly can't recall the specific stories or the sites I saw them on), but does anyone know if this has basis in canon?
Far over the Misty Mountains cold, to dungeons deep and caverns old. We must away ere break of day, to claim our long forgotten gold.
Huchseems to be from Parma Eldalamberon #13; an early Noldorin-stage word for the female sexual organ.
Quenya has móna (VT43 p. 31), evidently from Common Eldarin *mônâ (< MÔ 'labour' ) which would become Sindarin *mûn. Where a longer word would be desired for poetic metre's sake etc., a proper longer neo-synonym might be for instance *emelvun after Anglo-Saxon módor-hrif & Finnish äidin-kohtu.
