Post A small translation request
on: January 14, 2016 08:09
Hello all.

I am trying to translate The Treasure Hunters into Sindarin (it's meant to be a title). So far I've got In Feredir Mîriath but I'd like a confirmation if I am on the right path.
I searched a few dictionaries and found the following (please correct me where my logic is flawed):

There are a few Sindarin words for hunter, I liked Feredir more than Faron, and the plural of Feredir is the same.
The hunters should therefore be In feredir

Now, there are a few words for treasure but I liked mîr best since it means both treasure and jewels. I guess the collective plural mîriath would be more suitable, because treasure hunters look for all kinds of treasures, not just the treasures or a treasure.

In order to translate it, it should be rewritten as The hunters of treasure but if I use Genitive properly it would be In Feredir In Mîriath however it sounds rather clumsy with two "In"s. I saw some example of the In getting dropped so I am not sure if I can do that and leave it just with "In Feredir Mîriath"

Thank you for your help.
