Post Sindarin <> English dictionary
on: April 10, 2017 11:51
Hi everyone

Since I'm starting to learn Sindarin I thought of getting a physical copy of a sindarin/english dictionary. One I could just carry in my purse and consult when I'm doing translation exercises in my head ^.^

I'm looking at the pocket version published by Ambar Eldaron, but figured since most of you would know which physical dictionary would be best, I'd ask you! =)

FYI: I live in Belgium, EU so I do need to find a book that is purchasable/shippable here.

Hello, I live in Belgium too. But I'm more a Quenya specialist.
I always use this online dictionary: https://www.elfdict.com/index.page
It is very good.

I also find Parf Edhellen very useful. Sadly enough, you cannot really print it. I hope it is useful for you

It will be difficult to find printed dictionaries because of the changing nature of the vocabulary.
My go-to resource is eldamo.org, you could even consider printing its Sindarin wordlist.

I'm the author of a dictionary you can buy on Amazon (either physically or ebook form) - however, I'm currently working on the 3rd edition so it is missing some words at the moment (2nd edition came out before Parma Eldalamberon issue 22). Hoping to have it done by the end of summer.
