So for both aorist and infinitive the lessons state that there is no change to the stem of a-stem verbs.
Also it seems that the basic verbs are also in the same predicament (now that I'm looking back over the lesson).
How are we supposed to know which translation to use? Or is it supposed to be based on the context. Very confused.
An infinitive is only used after another verb, it is never the main verb of the sentence (in fact this is exactly the same for English infinitives):
E.g. I nér polë cenë = the man can see, cenë is an infinitive
I nér cenë = the man sees, cenë is an aorist
Of course in the plural it is easier to distinguish them, as the infinitive is unchangeable:
I neri polir cenë = the men can see
I neri cenir = the men see
