Did the Witch King actually die when he was stabbed by Merry and Eowyn?

My Ring being destroyed shortly afterwards sort of looms very large in my memory, so such petty details have faded.

Why does that blasted cat always change their mind... Do you want to go out? Or stay in?

Maybe you're feeding your cats the wrong food. Have you tried lembas?

Maybe you never realised I'd had him enslaved... until he escaped, that is.

Escape, I did, and with my entire supply of lembas, I might add.

Oh well, maybe those disgusting Elven crackers can be useful as bait for rodents.

I wonder what other tack I could take to convince the Elf he should dispense with his lembas flogging.

I would appreciate it if you could stop him flogging the suff to the local rodents! You wouldn't believe the increase in speed and endurance they have managed since munching on the stuff!

I have no need to write any memoirs. I am the subject of countless legends and mythologies all over Middle-earth! (Granted, some of the best ones got lost in that Númenor incident ...)

Duh! Tell me about it. Those Númenorians started nosing around Middle-earth as far back as 600 Second Age. That gave me more than 2600 years to go to work on them before they gave me the free ride to Númenor. But I had managed to make them restless after a mere 1200 years. The haughtier they were, the easier it was to corrupt them - the basic flaw in Eru's design of the Atani.

In a way Feanor had a right to be angry, first the Valar wanted to break one of his Silmarils, then wouldn't get involved when your master decided to steal them

What Fëanor knew about gems he basically got from Aulë (I know what I'm talking about here, you might remember). And what made the Silmarils special was not the gem casing, but the light of the Two Trees that he had enclosed in them, and he had exactly zero to do with the creation of that. Cheeky little copyright thief!
