That double-th word is one of those that is a real stumbling-block for German native speakers who have learned English in later life.

Despite my Realm membership, I would have to go with Varda, as I find astronomy much more interesting than weaving.

Arkenstone. Very bad idea, going down into the depths of Erebor to steal it from Thorin's tomb, but at least compared to heading off into basically outer space to steal the Nauglamir (actually of course its only relvant remnant) from Eärendil, who seemingly casually dispatched Ancalagon the Black, "only" the mightiest dragon ever in the world - piece of cake.

As an opponent in single-handed combat, face Smaug in Erebor or the Balrog in Moria?

Interview, in the sense of asking critical questions, does not work with either of those nut-cases. By the thin evidence provided, Sauron may have been the slightly lesser psycho- / sociopath. So by a sliver of a margin, perhaps Sauron.

Open an aerobic exercise center in the Shire or in Thranduil's realm?

Taking a book along, with Bilbo (I don't fish myself).
(But it could be interesting to see Gollum try his hand at some salmon that the Alaskan Grizzlies go after during the salmon runs. Some of those fishes are huge! Wikipedia states that the Pacific Chinook Salmon can reach a length of 150 cm or almost five feet, and over 60 kilograms!!!)
