Anyone else like to have a little fun on September 22nd? I read Lord of the Rings every year and start on the 22nd or try to. I like to make myself some mushroom toast and cider to celebrate and watch the movies after I'm done reading Lord of the Rings which usually ends up being the end of October or early November.
I'll sometime dig out some of the things I've collected over the years just for fun, like calendars and newsclippings of the books and movies.
I'm in the middle of reading the History of Lord of the Rings (HoMe series # 6-9) which I hadn't read before. It was really interesting to read Tolkien's rough draft ideas like naming Aragorn Trotter, having Boromir live and betray them, or originally naming Frodo Bingo.
