hey, I’m the first one!!!! nice pic!!!
I expected it to be a bit bigger when I read the book.
yeah i agree with punkhobbit
looks cozy and nice……………Tolkien is WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It looks almost exactly as I pictured it!
I second Silvan Elf From Mirkwood’s comment 😛
Any one else notice the resembalence to an anglo-saxon hall?
The closest thing I’ve seen to an Anglo-Saxon hall was Meduseld, but I see it 🙂
Looks Iroquois….cool…. nice to have a littl american flava other then weed in the lotr!lol
thats cool! Love da fire pit!!! It was probably based on the Angle-saxons as was Rohan and the Dwarf runes!
so many lines
I have to say the same as Berenfinwen….there are too many lines but good picture though.
U people dont get it do u? This is a great drowing for someone whos genius was in writting. Great picture T. !
wow, this so so similar to what i thought it would look like…shows how well it was described in ‘The Hobbit’
Definately Anglo-saxon…but the lines are what it’s all about! it gives it the “wild” look, which separates
…it from Theoden’s hall.
T did an awsome job at describing this. I think the lines give it a woody appearance.
axe wear is right tolkien wasnt credited so much for his drawing skills…i think it’s excilent.
Oh this is perfect! Close to how I imagined it while reading the book.
I imagineedd it biger and circular with an onpen cieling so that birds could fly in and the fire in teh middl
e and there just being two great big tables with food lined up on it like a buffet.
but non the less this is how tolken wanted it to appear in teh readers mind
WOW that is JUST how I imagined it! (well, pretty much anyhow)
That’s really close to how I thought it was. But are the tables too tall for the animals?
I agree with many of the posters that have come before me: It’s almost exactly how I imagined it!
*digs the use of lines* Creates a perfect Old English yet Arda look.
I wonder if I could decorate my room like that…
Wow it’s so cool. It has a sort of Old English look that fits really well.
i like it so mutch tolkien was a real artist ! 😉
This is soo straight from the Hobbit!!
LOOOOVE IT!!! Great job Professor T! It reminds me of a viking longhouse…
This is EXACTLY like I imagined it! Wow. It makes you realize how good at describing things Tolkien was.
Or it does me, anyways, because so often you’ll see a picture by him, how HE imagined it –
and you’ll say “Wow! That is *so* Beorn’s house (or Hobbiton, or Barad-dur, etc. etc.)!”
Hmmm! I like the sort of cross-hatching drawing style. (Is that the right word?)
