you know, this is so perfect, that I couldn’t like movie Helm’s Deep, I kept thinking: it’s not right
Yeah you’re right me 2!!
same with me!!
yes, I agree
i had wondered where the movie people got their layout from, im glad they took it from someone who Knew 😉
they should have looked at some of tolkiens pictures too, to figure out some of their designs, not just lees
yeah but you have to admit that pete jackson did a great job on the movies.
and u have to remember that pj said that the movies would only ever be an interpretation of the books.
and the movie helms deep was pj’s interpretation of it so dont rip at him too much.
I think PJ did a great job interpreting Helms Deep’s design… it’s not that much different.
WOW! The details…it’s great.
Actually, I did kinda picture it this way. It’s a bit more like a castle.
and that “castle “should be nearer in Mountain…
well, if Tolkien did it, it must be accurate according to the books; coulda been done a lil bit better…
*stares thoughtfully at it for a moment*… I’ve actually been to a castle called the Hornburg
it was on top of the mountain.
Besides, it would be a copyright violation if PJ duplicated Tolkien’s Helm’s Deep. . .
. . . in every detail.
Tolkien aslways said he was never an artist, so I figure he might have had some trouble putting exactly what
he wanted in it. I agree with cryingnienna. I mean, if its a fortress, for all practical reasons they would
use available defenses.
Very interesting. It wouldn’t be a copyright violation because New Line own the rights. Considering the movie
and the book have identical title, characters, dialogue, having the same design of the Hornburg isnt a problem
i really like this, i think it really captures the despair of yet utter longing for battle!
Yes Hornburg was a common/popular name in years Past… don’t remember just what it means, though…
PJ doesn’t have the copyrights to this picture. And the castle is as far from the coomb as it is because –
– that’s where the Hornrock is and nowhere else.
i have to say there are distinct differences between the film’s helms Deep and this one but i like both.
both Minas Tirith and Helm’s Deep look very similar in the movies to Prof T’s Descriptions… I like this!
This is exactly like I imagined it from the book description.
I didn’t picture so much space between the mountains and the fortress, but I like it.
Cool, but I agree with arwen1300 – too big a gap between the mountains and the fortress.
Woah! Brilliant! I think they almost got it in the movie. Great!
