Ah, much better then the animated one! *shudders*
This is good. I wish I knew who the artist was so I could see more of his stuff.
Of course it is better than the animated one! It looked like Gollum with blomde hair and a of leaves
and a crown of leaves , sorry.
this is definitly the best thranduil i have seen
Ahh, I love this. I wonder who the artist is…Would love to see more of her/his work.
Beautiful! A good replacement for the nightmarish visions the animated version of the hobbit left me with.
So, that’s supposed to be Thranduil? For some reason he looks a whole lot younger than I imagined him in the
book. I can’t believe that this is Legolas’ dad, he looks younger than Legolas too.
Maybe this is him before Legster was even around. *shrugs*
Very, very Elven indeed!
-blink- I always pictured the wood elves with ginger hair before the movies, never white maybe a night thing?
It is night-time due to the moon in the background. Whoo, it must be very bright then!
In The Hobbit, they mentioned him with golden hair. It must be the moon.
i think i would be alarmed if my hair changed from golden to white on a nightly basis
Leggy made him go grey! 😛
“The foot is quicker than the eye! *punches the guy infront of him* And so is the hand..” Lovely pic of
Thranduil. Now I know why Legolas looks so young..
Lol, Nani, im with you, in the hobbit he is creepy!
O_o The animated atrocity was supposed to be Thranduil? I thought it was Elrond… this one is MUCH better.
If you’re talking about that weird gollum thing with the sideburns, yes that was supposed to be him Thrandie!
the the moon in the background looks so real.
*Nani* is right. Better to not see the animated ones (gets dark look…)
Ditto Aldawen.Amazing 🙂 .I felt like scrubbing my eyes out after seeing the animated wood-elves.
well i think Bakashi went with the literal ‘wood elves’ as elves made of wood? -blink- that didn’t sound right
lolllll who’s Bakashi?the guy who make the hobbit?anyway thranduil is great here!!!!!
Ralph Bakshi made the 1978 LotR movie, the animated Hobbit was made by Rankin-Bass.
Rob Alexander is the artist for those who wanted to know a long time ago
It’s amazing. I just absolutely love it!
Very nice picture! Though it is rather pale, I’m sure it’s the moonlight, that tends to lighten things.
I agree with you Dream~Giver!
(I have a digi cat named Thraduil) This one however good, looks like a kid. His face should be more carven.
I… I don’t know if I’m liking this. sorry…
i don’t know …. it looks more like a human then an elf, but it’s a really cool pice of art work (= D
It’s beautiful, but I think I’m the only one who think’d he looks rather…dead.
SOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!! he kinda does looks like leggie!! 😀
this is one of the best Thranduils I’ve seen though I’ve always pictured him with long golden hair.
Oh, indeed. the WB cartoon made Thranduil look like the cross between a goblin and a frog!!!
I like it… but he looks.. kind of… young.
maybe when he was a kid
