Why is this one different from the previous illustration of Orthanc?
Isenard…. well, it’s better then Bakshi….ahem…. moving on
well, i love tolkiens work, but that just looks terrible. it looks more like a slab of rock than a tower.
i dunno…kind of different from what i had imagined when reading the rescriptions
This is a better Orthanc than the other “wedding cake” version and is closer to version in. . .
. . . the PJ movie. MOST COOL!
better than the one that looks like a cake. though they are both cool
This looks sort of like the movie Orthanc starting to melt, funny really, the likeness
Well, the miniature was made of wax, right?
It WAS a slab of rock. ( : I like this better than the other one. But I’ve always thought orthanc looked..
too evil all the time.. wasn’t it origionally made by ‘good guys’?
amen to you fearin
“a peak and isle of rock it was”.. i dunno, fits the description pretty well in my mind
If the wrath of the Ents can’t hurt it, how can Númenoreans carve and cut as detailed a tower as the one in
– the movies? It’s very accurate to Tolkien’s description. And it sure as heck beats the cake.
lol, it doesnt exactly take the cake, but it sure does beat the cake
Considering Orthanc was hewn from a spire of rock, this looks fairly accurate to me.
I like it, but it looks like my imagination of Cirith Ungol, personally…
If you squint closely at the top you can see the porch that Grima Wormtonge through the Plantir off of!
