Frodo is leaving Middle Earth forever and he, Sam, Merry, and Pippin are all wondering what’s going to happen now. The three hobbits understand Frodo’s choice but are still sad. Frodo tries to comfort them by singing this song.

And so we talked all night about the rest of our lives
What we’re going to do when I leave this world
I keep thinking times have change,
Keep on thinking things will never be the same
But when I leave Middle Earth I won’t be coming back,
No more hanging out cuz I’ll be in a different world

Cuz I’m moving on and I won’t back down
These memories are running through my head without sound
And I keep thinking of the quest we shared,
Didn’t know how it would end but we did it anyway
And there was me and you and we got through,
Got to Mount Doom and destroyed the One Ring
We all met up again and celebrated
But now I’m leaving
And this is how it feels…

As we stand here now with tears running down,
We hug and remember the good times we shared,
Growing up in the Shire and being with the fellowship
And now I wonder what will happen when I leave
Will Sam and his wife Rosie have a baby?
Can Merry and Pippin get married?
I keep, I keep thinking that it’s all ok,
Keep on thinkin’ it’s my time to leave,
And this is how it feels…

Frodo stops singing as he boards the ship with Bilbo. He looks back at his three best friends then before the ship leaves he sings:
Will we always remember the times that we had?
Can we live without each other?
Can we make it somehow?

I guess I knew our times together would end,
Just never thought it would be like this and happen so soon.
Will the past be a shadow that will follow us round?
Or will these memories fade when I leave Middle Earth?
