My LotR Crew Fansite

Welcome to my small corner of the web! This is just a little site to pay homage to some of the often unseen crew of the Lord of the Rings films. Here, you will find pages dedicated to Richard Taylor & Weta Workshop, Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh & Philippa Boyens, and Alan Lee & John Howe. It isn't much, but hopefully you'll gain something by browsing through my site. ;)

Thanks to the Realm of Vairė for making this site Member Website of the Month in the November 2004 Newsletter!

The crew (and cast, of course!) were completely dedicated to the project, and had a love for the book; this dedication is what made this production so special.

"I first read The Lord of the Rings when I was eighteen. I loved the book; I thought it would make a great film. I assumed that somebody would make a live-action film and that I'd get to go along and see it."
Peter Jackson (Director)

"I did find it was probably one of the first literary experiences that really taught me the meaning of how powerful the written word is."
Andrew Lesnie (Director of Photography)

"I've been a Tolkien fan since my mother bought the book for me when I was twelve and said, 'I think you might like this. Have a read of this.'"
Daniel Falconer (Designer and Sculptor)

"I first read The Lord of the Rings in 1961, and at that point, I was totally blown away by it. It was my first year in college, and I thought, 'This is something like I've never seen before.'"
Alex Funke (Miniatures Director of Photography)

"Virtually everyone in a significant position on the movie knew the books inside-out, had been obsessed with them for years."
Mark Ordesky (Executive Producer)
