For those of you who don't know much on Gollum, here is his biography:
Also known as: Smeagol, Slinker, & Stinker
Long before the Ring corrupted Gollum he lived near the River Anduin. He went fishing there with his friend Deagol. Gollum was known at the time as Smeagol. They both were Stoors, hobbit like creatures.
One day in TA 2463 the two were fishing when Deagol was pulled into the water by a large fish. At the bottom of the lake Deagol saw something and grabbed the handful of mud up to the shore with him.
