Sindarin Name Finder
NOTE: Check back every two to three weeks to see if your name has been added the the Database yet.
Find the Sindarin equivalent for your name!
1. The Name Finder uses various abbreviations, the meanings of which can be found here.
2. If you can't find your name in the SNDB, feel free to request that your name be translated. However, before requesting a name addition, please check to see if the name isn't already in the database by searching for it; e.g. if the name Mandy can't be found, try Amanda.
3. If you want more than one name translated (like a name-surname combination), please request each name separately.
4. Please be patient with name requests; the names are actually translated with the meaning in mind, not just generated randomly.
5. If you could submit name requests as a logged-in COE member, that would be very helpful, so if there's something wrong with your name request, we can contact you about it.
6. No two people are alike, so it's possible that our ideas in translating names might differ from yours, and that you might find differing translations in the Database. However, if you feel there is something definitely wrong or disputable about a name translation, please contact Fíriel or IdhrenethMeril . |
